- How to be successful.

Motivation, we know what it is, but why do we have such a hard time actually applying it into our lives? Its as if motivation is some magic dust that needs to be sprinkled around to give us the ability to do anything we set our minds to. We all want to be motivated, but sometimes have a hard time finding it. Why?

Let me start out by saying this, motivation is bullsh*t. You heard me right.

Its a cop-out word for people to use as an excuse for being lazy. Have I caught your attention yet? Cause let me be real for a moment here. Successful people don't rely on motivation. They are driven, focused, and disciplined. They do what needs to get done no matter what, and they don't use the excuse of not being motivated to not get shit done. They just do it.

Motivation is not a physical item. It is not magic dust. It is not something that can physically be handed to you. It’s not something that you wait around for. Its not something you wish and hope for. It’s something much more powerful than that. Being motivated is a choice, and it comes from within yourself. YOU have the ability to define it and create it.

Have you ever been unmotivated? Are you currently unmotivated? You're not alone. But did you know that you already have the motivation in you? If you have a goal in your head, that’s motivation. If you have a dream, a reason, a purpose, that’s motivation. If you want to be something great, that's motivation! Motivation is interpreted based on your wants and goals in life, but its how you apply them to your everyday life that'll make you one step closer to achieving them.

So, how do you tap into this motivation that lies within? It all starts with your mindset. How bad do you really want this, and how far are you willing to go to make your dreams come true? Seek the drive within YOU. Whatever it may be. To be a better person? Mother, daughter, partner, member of society, athlete, employee, etc. Find YOUR DRIVE, YOUR PASSION, YOUR REASONS. Use your drive to motivate you. That is your force and it comes from within yourself. Understand that it will take blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifice. But when you understand that it takes a lot of work, and you accept it, then having to do something comes easy.

Want a fit, shredded body, but avoid going to the gym because you hate it? There is your first problem. You are allowing the burden of the gym to get in the way of you wanting something. You don't have to like the gym. You don't have to enjoy every single moment of it. But you have to do it in order to get the body you want, plain and simple. There is no way around it. You don't have to be motivated to go to the gym. You just have to be disciplined. You have to put yourself in uncomfortable situations in order to gain success. This is the same scenario as going to a job that you don't like. You don't want to go, but you do because you have to make money. If you don't go, you don't make money and then you can't pay your bills or buy the things you enjoy. So though you might not like your job, you still go... So even though you might not like the gym, you need to go in order to obtain a better body.

You create motivation based on your own wants, needs, goals, and dreams. When you want something bad enough in life, you chase it. When you have a goal, you fight for it. That’s your motivation. Discover what it is you want in life and make that your focus point. Write your goals on paper, create a plan, make a sticky note and put it on your mirror to remind yourself. Prioritize what you want in life!

Motivation isn’t the “end-game factor”. Don’t blame lack of motivation for YOUR choices. That’s an excuse. Everything in life is your choice. You are choosing to be what you are. People who are successful chase and fight for their dreams, they don’t wait for it to fall in their hands. They’ve tapped into what motivates them and they apply to their life every damn day.

You attract what you want. By the energy you put out and by the amount of hard work you put in; what you want most in life will eventually come to you. But you have to WANT it and work for it. Remember, no one else will do the work for you. And if it what you want doesn’t happen, then you didn’t want it bad enough.
